Health workers explained that leprosy is curable and spoke against the stigma around it.

The Red Ribbon Club and the Department of Biotechnology held an awareness programme for Anti-Leprosy Day on 29 January 2026.

Mr. J. Raju, Health Educator at the District TB Centre, and Mr. M. Dhandapani of the Indian Red Cross Society, Villupuram, explained that leprosy is treatable with antibiotics and spoke about ending discrimination against people affected by it. Students took a pledge.
