Sports Events for JAN & FEB : 01-02-2025
Department of physical education had Conducted a MONTHLY SPORTS DAY- A Day of Fun & Competition on 31/01/2025 & 01/02/2025. Our Principal Dr. R. Muralidharan, started the event, setting the tone for a day filled with joy. It was organized by Mr. Mohammed ijas .M department of physical education Students showcased their sportsmanship and determination. The volley ball, Throw ball, Basketball, carrom,chess and fun games added keeping the spirit of competition alive. This event provide a space to our students and faculty for a peace of mind.
Road Safety Awareness Rally : 30-01-2025
The Red Ribbon Club and Youth Red Cross of E.S Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) in association with Indian Red Cross Society, Villupuram Branch jointly organized Road Safety Awareness Rally Program on 30.01.2025 at 10.00 AM. Dr.K.Thirumalavalavan Chairman, Indian Red Cross society, Villupuram , Mrs.Sivaganga Secretary, Indian Red Cross society, Villupuram , were presided over the function and launched the rally by hosting the flag. Rally began at the Villupuram collectrate to conclude at the Villupuram signal. At the rally, the students were walking and chanting slogans. Students carried Placards and banners appealing to the people to follow traffic rules, avoid accidents, wearing helmets, avoids jumping signals and over speeding. Mr. M.Rajasekaran RRC co-ordinator, Mr. S.Dharmarajan YRC Co-ordinator coordinated this rally program successfully.
Martyrs Day – Pledge : 30-01-2025
The NSS unit had observed “Martyrs’ Day” to commemorate the death anniversary of the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi on 30.01.2025 at 11.00 am. On this day students and staff members pays deepest tributes to the Mahatma Gandhi and freedom fighters who lost their lives fighting for the freedom of our glorious nation. Our college Principal, staff members and students observed two minutes silence from 11.00 am to 11.02 am and also took pledge against untouchability. By taking the pledge our volunteers learnt to avoid violence against “Untouchability” and it is a crime.
Career Guidance – Veranda Club : 29-01-2025
The Department of Computer Science and techno club has organized a Banking workshop for Veranda Club on 29-01-2025. Nearly 100 students from various department participated in the program. Mr. PRAVEEN, Professor & Trainer, VERANDA RACE and Mr. V. AFROSE, Administrator, VERANDA RACE, were the Resource Person. Mrs.K.Sivasankari, HOD & Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science delivered the keynote address. Professor Dr. R. Leeladevi coordinated the event.
NSS – Handloom Saree Exhibition : 29-01-2025
The NSS unit of E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), Villupuram & Kamela Nehru Handloom Weavers Society, Dindigul have jointly organized “Handloom Saree Exhibition” on 29.01.2025 at 12.00 pm. Dr. R. Muralidharan,Principal, & Dr. N. Velmurugan, Vice Principal, ESASC presided over the programme. Custom sarees & silk sarees were displayed at the exhibition. Students and professors attended the exhibition and bought handloom sarees to support the weavers.
Commerce – Internship : 27-01-2025
6 Students of B.Com Computer Applications and B.Com General from E.S Arts and Science College have undertook a 15 Days Internship from 30-12-2024 to 24-01-2025 at C.A T.Palaniappan Auditor. Throughout the internship, they gained hands-on experience in auditing processes and financial analysis. In recognition of their hard work and contributions, they received a stipend of Rs.1500 per Student for their efforts throughout the internship. Dr. R. Muralidharan, Principal, appreciated the students.
Commerce Department – ADZAP Competition : 27-01-2025
E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), Department of Commerce, and the Consumer Club organized ADZAP – 2025 on 27th January 2025 at 11:30 AM in the college auditorium. The event was coordinated by Ms. P. Lavanya, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. Mrs. P.Rajalakshmi Head and Assistant Professor Department of commerce delivered the programme introduction. Students from various departments participated and showcased their unique talents. The main objective was to assess the participants’ promotional strategies in marketing through advertisements. Students demonstrated immense creativity and out-of-the-box thinking by coming up with innovative ideas. A total of 25 students participated, demonstrating strong teamwork throughout the event
76th Republic Day Celebration : 26-01-2025
76th Republic Day was celebrated in E.S. Arts and Science College( Co- Ed) on 26-01-2025. The National flag was unfurled by Mr. Jayaprakash Transport Officer & AO. Dr. R. Muralidharan, Principal of ESASC delivered the Presidential address and highlighted the responsibilities of teachers to nurture the students as good citizen. Dr. N. Velmurugan Vice – Principal addressed about the duties of the every citizen. Mrs.P.Enbarasi Head of the Department of Chemistry and co-ordinator gave a welcome address. At the end of this event, the student Mr.M.Kumarakrishnan III- Biotechnology gave a vote of thanks. The overall event was coordinated by Department of Chemistry.
15th National Voters Day Rally : 25-01-2025

Thiru K.Haridoss, District Revenue Officer Villupuram and Thiru.Murugesan, Revenue Division Officer Villupuram Presided over the function and lunched the rally by hosting the flag. Rally began at the Villupuram collectrate to conclude at the Villupuram signal. The students spread awareness about the importance of voting through the rally.
15th National Voters Day Pledge : 25-01-2025
The NSS, RRC and YRC of E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) had conducted “15th National Voters Day Pledge Programme” on 25-01-2025 at 11.00 am. The pledge was undertaken to motivate young voters to exercise their privilege to cast their vote in a free and fair way in a democratic country. Dr. R. Muralidharan, Principal, ESASC had addressed the students about the National Voters day. More than 200 students, Teaching staff, and Non-Teaching staff actively participated in the programme. Mr. R. Sivakumar, AP/CS had coordinated the event.
CS Students – Inter-College Competition : 24-01-2025
The Girl students of Department of Computer Science participated in the inter-college event TECH FUSION 25 at John Dewey College for Women on 24-01-2025. Over 50 colleges participated in the event, and our college won the First Prize in both the Paper Presentation and Adzap events, as well as the Second Prize in Digital Poster Making. Dr. R. Muralidharan, Principal, and Dr. N. Velmurugan, Vice-Principal, congratulated the winners and participants. Mrs. K. Sivasankari, Head of the Department, Mr. R. Sivakumar, Assistant Professor, and Dr. R. Leeladevi, Assistant Professor, guided the students.
Campus Placement Drive – Apollo tyres : 24-01-2025
E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) organized a campus placement drive in collaboration with Apollo Tyres Limited Company on January 24, 2025. The program began with the Thamizh Thaai Vaazhuthu, followed by a welcome address by Mr. Sivabharathi, Placement Officer of ESASC. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. N. Velmuragan, Vice Principal of the college. Mr. Mayavan, Placement Officer of ESSK Group of Institutions, introduced the guest, and Mr. Hariprasad, HR from Apollo Tyres, provided a brief introduction to the company and the interview conducted for the 80 registered students and 60 students got shortlisted.
National Child Day – Awareness Session : 24-01-2025
On 24th January 2025, the Women Cell of E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) hosted an awareness programme to observe National Girl Child Day at 12:15 PM in the college premises. The event was led by Mrs. P. Rajalakshmi, the Women Cell Coordinator and Head of the Commerce Department. The session began with a focus on the significance of National Girl Child Day, a day aimed at shedding light on the challenges faced by girl children and emphasizing their rights and protection. The Programme highlighted the need for equal access to education, healthcare, and social opportunities for girls, stressing that these are essential for their overall well-being and development.
Pongal Celebration : 11-01-2025
E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), organized a vibrant Pongal Cultural Celebration-2025 on 11th January 2025 at 9:00 AM in the college premises. The event was presided over by the esteemed Dr. R. Muralidharan, Principal of the college, who addressed the students with his inspiring words. The gathering was warmly welcomed by Dr. N. Velmurugan, Vice Principal of ESASC. The students showcased a rich variety of cultural performances, reflecting the spirit of Pongal, which is a celebration of harvest and prosperity. The event was a delightful display of traditional dance, music, and other cultural events, all of which added to the festive atmosphere. The event was a great success, fostering a sense of unity and pride within the college community. Various competitions were conducted like Drawing, Rangoli, Tug of war, breaking the pot, Sugarcane breaking.
Christmas Celebration : 24-12-2024
The Department of English and the Department of Visual Communication celebrated Christmas Day on 24th December 2024 at 11:30 AM. Ms. V. Ramya, II Year B.Sc AI, delivered the welcome address. The event was presided over by Dr. R. Muralidharan, Principal, and Dr. N. Velmurugan, Vice Principal, who delivered the facilitation address, inspiring the audience with their words. The celebrations featured a variety of cultural events, including dance, singing, speech, and other performances, which were enthusiastically organized and performed by the students. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. M. Kaviyamani, IIIrd Year B.Sc Computer Science. The event was successfully coordinated by Mr. R. Balachandramouli, Head of the Department of Visual Communication, and Mr. S. Jone Charles, Department of English.
World AIDS Day & Rangoli Competition : 20-12-2024
World AIDS Day is a day dedicated to raise awareness about AIDS and the global spread of the HIV virus. Dr. N.Velmurugan, Vice Principal presided over the function. On this occasion Mrs. Prema MSW, District Supervisor, District Aids Prevention Control Unit. Mrs. Sivaganga, Secretary – Indian Red Cross Society Collectorate – Villupuram.
The chief guest addressed about the causes and effects of HIV-Aids. She gave the basic facts about HIV /AIDS and mention about the chronic manageable disease and the precaution steps taken by the government to eradicate HIV-Aids. The talk concluded with an interactive session between the guests and participations in the discussion without any hesitation.
Pledge was taken by the students and Faculty members of various departments. During the event World Aids Day Rangoli competition also conducted by RRC and Department of Biotechnology..
Skill Training – Day 3 : 18-12-2024
The Placement Cell in association with Magic Bus Foundation Ltd., Chennai, have successfully completed the Skill training programme on “Employability Skills” for the Final year students from 16-12-2024 to 18-12-2024 (3 days). More than 150 students from various departments has participated and gained knowledge in the programme.
Commerce Students Internship : 16-12-2024
Commerce Students from E.S Arts and Science College have undertook a 15 Days Internship at C.A T. Palaniappan Auditor. The students were part of the auditing department, where they gained hands-on experience in various auditing processes. In recognition of their hard work and contributions, they received a stipend of Rs.1500 per Student for their efforts throughout the internship and a recognition certificate. The internship was from 22-11-2024 to 13-12-2024.
Skill Training – Day 1 : 16-12-2024
The Placement Cell in association with Magic Bus Foundation Ltd., Chennai, have initiated the process of conducting training to students in the topic “Employability Skills” for the Final year students from 16-12-2024 to 18-12-2024 (3 days). In this three days programmee, they planned to cover the following topics – Stress Management, Personality Development, Resume Preparation, Interview Skills, and Effective Communication. More than 150 students from various departments will get benefited in the programme.
75th Constitutional Day – Pledge : 26-11-2024

Rally for Drug & Tobacco – Free Youth : 18-11-2024
The Anti-Drug Cell & NSS unit of E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), Villupuram, Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine & All the Children, Villupuram jointly organized “Drugs and Tobacco-Free Youth Campaign 2.0 Rally Programme” from Opposite District Collector’s Arch Gate to Theivanai Ammal College for Women, Villupuram on 18.11.2024 at 10.30 am. Dr. Deepak Siwach, IPS, District Superintendent of Police, Villupuram presided over the function and launched the rally by hosting the flag. Dr. R. Muralidharan, Principal and Dr. N. Velmurugan, Vice Principal, ESASC, were present on this programme. At the rally, the students were walking and chanting slogans. Students carried Placards and banners to spread awareness about Drugs and Tobacco. More than 150 students, Teaching staffs, and Non-Teaching staffs were actively participated in the rally. Voters Special Summary Revision Awareness Programme : 15-11-2024
The Electoral Literacy Club & NSS unit of E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), Villupuram and ERO/RDO, Villupuram jointly conducted a “Voter’s Special Summary Revision 2025 Awareness Programme” on 15.11.2024 at 09.00 am. Dr. R. Muralidharan, Principal ESASC, welcomed the gathering. The chief guest are Thiru. U. Murugesan, Electoral Registration Officer / Revenue Divisional Officer, Villupuram and Tmt. N. Kanimozhi, Assistant Electoral, Registration Officer / Tahsildar, Villupuram. The students are motivated to register themselves as a Voter through the form provided or through online. More than 150 Students benefited from this awareness programme.
Diwali Celebration : 30-10-2024
The Cultural Club of E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) organized Diwali Celebration 2024 on 30.10.2024 at 10.00 am in the College Premises. Mrs S. Suguna, HOD, Department of Tamil, welcomed the gathering. Dr. R. Muralidharan, Principal & Dr. N. Velmurugan, Vice Principal, ESASC, presided over the event and addressed the students. Various competitions were organized for students. The cultural program was kick started with beautiful classical dance. Various cultural events were performed by the students. The students celebrated the festival of Diwali with great enthusiasm. Dr. A. Ananthi, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil, delivered a vote of thanks.
Vigilance Pledge & Awareness programme : 28-10-2024
The NSS unit of E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), Villupuram observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 (Vigilance Awareness Pledge) on 28.10.2024 at 11.30 am. Dr. R. Muralidharan, Principal and Dr. N. Velmurugan, Vice Principal, ESASC, presided over the programme. On this occasion, our Principal said that corruption is the root cause of all the problems. It is one of the major obstacles that affect the economic growth of any organization, and therefore steps should be taken to organize such activities to eradicate corruption. More than 150 Students and Staff members took the Pledge. Mr. S. Jone Charles, NSS Programme Officer coordinated the programme successfully.
Industrial Visit : 25-10-2024
The Department of Commerce has organized one day industrial visit to Chocolate factory at Yercaud, Salam. Students were actively take part in this event and gained practical insight operations, manufacturing processes, Hands-on experience with equipment and also Packaging and Dispatch. The purpose of this Industrial Visit is to know about the manufacturing processing steps and ethics in it.
Pooja Celebration : 10-10-2024
E. S Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) had celebrated the Ayudha Pooja and Saraswathi Pooja in the College Campus on 10-10-2023. The Pooja started at 12.10 PM and completed at 1.50 PM. The departments, Classrooms, faculty rooms and buses were cleaned and everything made ready. The departments had celebrated their Pooja in their respective laboratories. For the college, the Pooja was performed in Library, where the Navarathiri Kollu was arranged by the Women’s Club.
Drug Abusive – Awareness Session : 09-10-2024
NSS Unit and Anti-Drug Club of E.S Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) Villupuram, organized “Anti Drug Awareness Programme” on 09.10.2024 at 12.00 pm. Mr. Jone Charles, Anti-Drug Club Coordinator, motivates the students to fight against drugs and to stop drugs themselves and encourage others to do the same. The entire session was an interactive session and the speakers answered many queries raised by the students. The feedback from participants were encouraging. More than 150 students were present on this programme.
Basic Life Support Awareness Programme : 07-10-2024
The NSS unit of E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), Villupuram & Indian Medical Association (IMA), Villupuram branch have jointly organized “Basic Life Support Awareness Programme” on 07.10.2024 at 03.00 pm. Mr. S. Jone Charles, NSS Programme Officerto delivered a welcome address. Dr. R. Muralidharan,Principal, ESASC to delivered presidential address. Dr. Soundarajan, Secretary, Indian Medical Association (IMA), Villupuram and Dr. Thirumavalavan, Treasurer, Nursing House Board, Indian Medical Association (IMA), Villupuram were presided over the function. The chief guest explained the importance of CPR in emergency conditions for saving the lives. The techniques that are to be followed were explained in detail with demonstrations. Tally orientation Programme : 04-10-2024
Department of Commerce conducted tally orientation programme on 04th October 2024 at 3.30 PM for the students of II & III B.Com & B.Com CA. The session was handled by Mr. N. Kumar, Technical Team, Infocus Training Academy, Villupuram. He presented the basics of Tally and given an understanding Tally software by focusing on its features, functionalities, and practical applications in accounting and company management. Students have Learn how to manage tax-related functions, such as GST compliance and filing. And also they learnt how to input financial transactions, manage inventories, and create essential financial reports like balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
AICTE Sponsored IDE Bootcamp : 23rd to 27-09-2024
The AICTE Sponsored IDE Bootcamp 2024, held from September 23 to 27 at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering Kanjirapally, Kottayam , saw an impressive participation of over 2,600 ideas from aspiring entrepreneurs across South India. Out of these, only 363 ideas were selected for the prestigious event, and the team “Dynamo 24” –Girinath.K , Sedhuraman.A and Hari Kumar.H – Commerce Department, E.S Arts and Science College, Villuppuram. proudly emerged as one of the top contenders and Finally The Team Achieved 8th best idea among all participants, marking a significant achievement for the team
Science Club Inauguration : 27-09-2024
The Science club of E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), Villuppuram has been inaugurated on 27.09.2024 with a Guest Lecture at 10.30 am in Auditorium. Dr.N.Velmurugan, Vice Principal gave a keynote address. Dr.Karthick Radhakrishnan, Public Sector Consultant ( Grant Thornton Bharat, LLP) was the Chief Guest and he deliver a talk on “Connection between Science, Economics and Policy” for the students of Department of Botany, Biotechnology and Chemistry. Through this program the students were able to know about How Science is interlinked with economics and what are all the policies and procedures to get government projects and funds and then How to apply for it. In this program 39 students were participated and the program convener Ms.P. Anusha organized the event.
Biotechnology Freshers celebration : 20-09-2024
The Department of Botany, Biotechnology and Chemistry had organized the Freshers Day Celebration Event on 20.09.2024 . The program starts with Thamizhthai Vazhthu. More than 83 students were actively participated in this event. Dr R.Muralidharan Principal , E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-ed) , gave the keynote address for the freashers regarding the Scope and recent trends in the field of Botany and Biotechnology. After that the students introduction and cultural events were conducted. The function ended up with National Anthem. The students of Second, Third years of Botany, Biotechnology and Chemistry had made the arrangements.
Internal Hackathon – SIH 2024 : 19-09-2024
E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), Department of Computer Science hosted an Internal Hackathon on September 6, 2024, as part of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) initiative. The event saw the active participation of 17 teams (102 students), each consisting of six talented individuals. To ensure impartial evaluation, a panel of judges – Dr.N. Velmurugan (Assistant Professor), Mrs.K. Sivasankari (Assistant Professor), Dr.R. Leeladevi (Assistant Professor), Mr. D. Rajesh (Cyber Forensic Engineer, Sophos, Bangalore) were invited to assess the projects presented by these teams. This event was organized to encourage innovation, problem-solving and collaboration among students, providing a platform for participants to showcase their technical skills and creativity working on real-world challenges.
Commerce Association & Freshers : 19-09-2024
Department of Commerce and Commerce Association had conducted inauguration of Commerce Association and the freshers day on 13th September 2024 at 1.15 PM. This program’s main goal was to give Commerce students the essential knowledge and direction they needed to make a seamless transition to the classroom. Tamil Thai Vazhthu kicked off the ceremony, and Ms. Nivetha.S from III B.COM gave a heartfelt welcome. The program was inaugurated with a presidential address by the principal, Dr. Muralidharan R. As our distinguished Chief Guest, we had the honor of welcoming Dr. S. Anthony Raj, Department of Commerce, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM – Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur. He gave a keynote address and shared his ideas with the audience. The resource person underlined the significance of the fields of Commerce, Finance, and Taxation, underscoring their involvement in diverse areas of industry, research, and commerce. In addition, he gave comprehensive details regarding competitive exams for individuals hoping to become CMAs, ICMAs, or ICWAI. Lastly, they celebrated Fresher’s Day to wrap up the celebration and gave the students lots of entertaining games to do.
Onam – Atham Rangoli Competition : 13-09-2024
Department of Visual communication & Media Marvellors and Women’s Cell Proudly Conducted Onam celebration on 13/09/2024. Principal Dr.R. Muralidharan, inaugurated the event, setting the tone for a day filled with joy, tradition, and festivals. On account of the Onam Celebration, the Media Marvellors (Media Club) and Women’s Cell had conducted Atham (Rangoli) Competition for the Students. The 11 students team participated in the Atham (Rangoli) Competition showcasing their creativity and love for Kerala’s rich cultural heritage. First price was won by Mr. Suriya and Team, I B.A. English by explicating the purpose of Onam. Second Prize was won by Ms. Sandhiya and Team, III B.Sc. CS and third prize was shared with two teams Mr. Prabhakaran and Team, I M.Com and Mr. Sedhuraman and Team, II B.Com. Cash prizes and Certificates will be distributed in the College Assembly.
CS Association Inauguration & Freshers day : 12-09-2024
The Department of Computer Science had organized the Association Inauguration – TECH TITANS & Fresher’s Day Celebration Event on 12.09.2024. More than 230 students from computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Applications actively participated in this event. M.Kaviyamani, a third year student delivered the welcome address. Dr. R.Muralidharan Principal, Inaugurate the TECH TITANS Association and gave the presidential address. After the presidential address, Dr. N.Velmurugan, Vice-Principal gave the Motivational talk. and the student’s introduction and cultural events were conducted. Professors Mrs.K.Sivasankari Head of Department, Mr.R.Sivakumar, Mr.B.Sivabharathi, Ms.D.Kumudhavalli, Ms.M.Mahalakshmi, and Dr.R.Leeladevi coordinated the function. M. Blood Donation Camp – NSS, YRC, RRC : 10-09-2024
The NSS, YRC & RRC units of our college has Conducted “Blood Donation Camp Programme” in collaboration with Government Villupuram Medical College Hospital, Mundiyampakkam, Indian Red Cross Society, Villupuram and HDFC Bank, Pondicherry on 10.09.2024 at 10.00 a.m. Totally 40 units of blood donated during the camp. The blood donors were provided with a blood donation appreciation certificate. Dr. Priya Padmashini, Block Medical Officer, Koliyanur Block, Dr. T. Vijaya, MD, Assistant Professor, Department of Transfusion Medicine, Government Villupuram Medical College Hospital, Mundiyampakkam, Villupuram, Dr. T. Foxconn – Campus Placement Drive : 04-09-2024
Training and Placement cell of E.S. Arts and Science College(Co-Ed) organized Campus Drive on 04th September 2024. Drive Management Services Associated with FOXCONN, Chennai conducted Campus interview to the students. 44 Students from various departments actively participated in the interview. Recruiters conducted Group Discussion and HR rounds to shortlist the candidates. The Science Club of E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), Viluppuram organized a DRAWING COMPETITION for the students of Department of Botany, Biotechnology and Chemistry to commemorate the First National Space Day on 23.08.2024 at 10.00 am. Through this program the students were able to know about the India’s Technological advancements in space research. In this event 32 students were actively participated and the program convener Ms.P. Department of Visual communication and media club proudly conducted a one- day Photography exhibition on 21/08/2024 to celebrate the World Photography day. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. R Muralidharan, Principal. The exhibition showcased an impressive array of photography equipment’s and a diverse collection of stunning photographs. Department of Commerce conducted the orientation program to the students regarding the Consumer Club and Innovation Cell on 21st August 2024 at 2.30 PM. Through this programme students have Learn about consumer rights and responsibilities, and how to protect their rights. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) Villupuram, Police Department and Revenue Department, Villupuram have jointly organized “Drug Abuse Awareness Programme and Pledge” on 12.08.2024 at 10.30 am. Mr. Sreedharan, Additional Superintend of Police, Crime against Women and Children, Villupuram and Mr. Velmurugan, Tahsildar, Revenue Department, Villupuram presided over the programme. The chief guest motivates the students to fight against drugs and to stop drugs themselves and encourage others to do the same. More than 350 students and staff members enthusiastically took the pledge.
Workshop – Short Film Making: 09-08-2024
Department of Visual communication had conducted a one- day seminar on 09th August 2024, In this event the award-winning short film Pesi Kadantha Dhooram (23 min) was previewed to the students. Also the short film Director – Mr. Kranthi Kumar, Mr. Vijay Ram, Editor, Mr. Yashwanth Konduru, Cinematographer and Mr. Santhosh Mouli, Dialouge Writer of the short film had interacted with the students and shared their experience and explained how to make an award winning short film. This event provided our students and faculty with the opportunity to experience and learn from this critically acclaimed short film.

Department of Botany and Biotechnology had conducted the seminar on “Emerging Trends in Biotechnology” on 08th August 2024. Dr. P. Susindran, Principal, K.S. Raja Arts and Science College for Women was the chief guest and gave a special lecture about various aspects in Plant Tissue Culture the different methods of culturing the Plants. Around 75 students of Botany and Biotechnology were attended the seminar and get benefited.
First year Orientation – Commerce: 06-08-2024
Department of Commerce had conducted First year orientation programme in the topic “Charting your Career: The Future of Commerce Awaits” on 06-08-2024. The session was handled by Dr. A. Ravikumar, Associate Professor in Commerce, Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirappalli. He stressed the students to learn about how advancements like AI, block chain, and big data are reshaping commerce. Also highlighted that students learn to identify the skills and qualifications needed for future roles, including technical skills, soft skills, and industry-specific knowledge. He explained local markets are adapting to global changes and how they differ from international trends and the career opportunities. 150 students of Commerce had attended the session and got benefitted.

Department of Commerce had organized a faculty development Programme on the topic “Cultivating Excellence: Professional Conduct and Ethical Teaching for Commerce Professors” on 06-08-2024. The resource person for the programme was Dr. A. Ravikumar, Associate Professor in Commerce, Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirappalli. He outlined the teaching methodology for Commerce and practically explained the way of handling theoretical and accounting subjects in Commerce stream. He accentuated how to handle students, maintaining a distance with students and handling the subject more interestingly. The sessions are more interesting and useful to the faculty members. Faculty members of Commerce had attended the session.

Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) Villupuram, Rojavanam & Brindavanam Trust and Manamakil Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Research Foundation, Villupuram have jointly organized “Drug Abuse Awareness Programme” on 22.07.2024 at 10.00 am.Mrs. Arivazhagi, Sub Inspector of police, Villupuram, Mrs. Rajammal, District Social Welfare Officer, District Social Welfare Department, Villupuram, Miss. Parkavi, District Child Protection Officer, District Child Protection Unit, Villupuram, Dr. Anitha, MD, District Psychiatrist, District Mental Health Program, Villupuram District was the chief guest of the event. The chief guest explained about the deterioration of health and mind by the usage of drugs and insisted students to say no at the first instance itself. A pledge taking ceremony was also held at the programme where more than 150 students and staff members from various school and colleges enthusiastically took the pledge. The day came to an end with the announcement of the prize winners for the speech, drawing, poster and essay writing competition. He narrated cases of individuals whose health, mind and family were totally shattered by the use of drugs. A pledge taking ceremony was also held at the programme where more than 150 students and staff members enthusiastically took the pledge “SAY YES TO LIFE, NO TO DRUGS”. Finally, the speech competition was conducted on the topic “My role in drug free Bharat”. The programme helped to create awareness of not using drugs among the college students.

Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) Villupuram and Isha Yoga Center, Villupuram have jointly organized an awareness and Yoga demonstration programme on 21.06.2024 at 11.30 am to celebrate the 10th International Yoga day. Shri. V. Anandhamurthy, Yoga Teacher, Isha Yoga Center, villupuram presided over the programme. He said that the art of practicing yoga helps in controlling an individual’s mind, body and soul. It also helps in increasing flexibility, muscle strength and body tone. The practical session began with a video – introduction to yoga and its awareness. The yoga trainers practically demonstrated various ‘asanas’ and highlighted their benefits to human life. More than 150 students and staff members enthusiastically took part in the yoga session.

Advanced Smart Phone Servicing – Certification course was conducted in E. S Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), Villupuram. In this certification program the students are provided a kit for dis-assembling a smart phone and multi-meter to check the faults and identify the types of faults. Mr. B. Krishna Kumar, CEO, New Technology, Coimbatore. & Team was the resource person handled the session. 91 students registered for the certification course they learnt the parts and functionality of Smart Phone and the frequent issues happening in Mobile Phone. The certification course was conducted by the Trainers of New Technology, Coimbatore on 21st Feb 2024 & 22nd Feb 2024. The student’s provided good feedback about the certification program, few student shown interest in starting their own mobile phone service as entrepreneur.

MoU Signing with VPS Code Builders – Pondicherry 14-02-2024
E. S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) had signed MoU with VPS Code Builders, Pondicherry on 14th Feburary 2024. With this MoU, the students of E. S. The Department of Mathematics and Ramanujan Club Celebrated “E- day” on 12.02.2024 at 01.40 pm. E-day celebrating every year on February 7th. To celebrate an important number, e! Euler made this mathematical constant famous in the early 1700s, and its intriguing qualities continue to amaze us to this day. Around 30 students from various departments participated in this Celebration and participated in the math puzzle. Deworming Awareness & Pill Distribution 09-02-2024
The NSS unit of E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) and Government Hospital, villupuram have jointly organized “National Deworming Awareness & Pill Distribution Camp” on 09.02.2024 at 01.00 pm. Dr. R. Muralidharan, principal and Dr. N. Velmurugan, Vice principal presided over the awareness camp. Speaking on the camp, intestinal worms cause intestinal blood loss, anaemia, poor nutrition absorption, and low weight in children and adolescents. Womens Cell and ICC had jointly celebrated the World Girl Childs Day on 24-01-2024 by inviting Mr. S. Sasikumar, Menstural Pride & Hygiene Educator, SK Herbal Napkins, Happy Periods & Healthy Uterus Trus, Dharmapuri. He interacted with girl students and given an overview about the issues faced by the girls and how to overcome it. He created awareness among students about the usage and disposal of Sanitary napkin. Also, discussed about all menstrual related issues with historic way of caring Feminine and Motherhood Hygiene. He presented his content to break the taboos and end the stigma surrounding menstruation.

The NSS unit of E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) & Indian Red Cross Society, Villupuram jointly organized “14th National Voters Day Pledge Programme” on 24.01.2024 at 11.00 am. Dr. Thirumavalavan, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, Villupuram presided over the function. Students pledged to uphold democratic traditions of our country and the dignity of free, fair and peaceful elections without being influenced by considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language or any other inducement. The pledge was undertaken to motivate young voters to exercise their privilege to cast their vote in free and fair in a democratic country. International Day of Education Rally Programme 24-01-2024
The NSS unit of E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), Theivanai Ammal College of Education, E.S. College of Nursing & Indian Red Cross Society, Villupuram jointly organized “International Day of Education Rally Programme” from Collector office ground to Signal, Villupuram on 24.01.2024 at 10.00 am. Mrs. Mahalakshmi, District Education Officer, Villupuram, Mr. Manickam, Regional Transport Officer, Villupuram, Dr. Thirumavalavan, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, Villupuram and Mrs. Sivaganga, AO, Indian Red Cross Society, Villupuram presided over the function and launched the rally by hosting the flag. At the rally, the students were participated and chanting slogans. Students carried Placards and banners to spread awareness about Education. Road Safety Awareness Rally Programme 22-01-2024
The NSS unit of the college & Nehru Yuva Kendra, Villupuram jointly organized “Road Safety Awareness Rally Programme” from Collector office to Signal, Villupuram on 22.01.2024 at 09.30 am. Dr.C.Palani, I.A.S., District Collector, Villupuram, Mr.Vengatesan, RTO, Villupuram, Mr. Manikam, RTO Inspector, Villupuram, Mr. Govindan, RTO Inspector, Villupuram, Mr. Ramachandran, District Youth Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Villupuram and Mr. Vasanth, Traffic Police Inspector, Villupuram presided over the function and launched the rally by hosting the flag. At the rally, the students were participated by chanting the slogans. Students carried Placards and banners appealing to the people to follow traffic rules, avoid accidents, wearing helmets, avoid jumping signals and overspeeding. Competitive Exams – Preparatory Session 19-01-2024
ES Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) Villupuram was conducting the workshop through the Veranda Club on 19th Jan 2024. Dr.P.Udayakumar Coordinator introduced the Resource Person and organized the event. Mr.V.Praveenkumar. Reasoning Trainer, Veranda Villupuram-branch who had explained the following topics (Direction, Syllogism, Coding, Decoding language, Alphanumeric, Number ranking, Blood Relations) for TNPSC and Banking Examinations to second and third year students. Dr.R.Muralidharan, Principal, ESASC, and Dr. N. Velmurugan Vice principal, Heads all departments’ staff members participated in the programme.
National Youth Day 12-01-2024
The NSS unit of E.S. Arts and Science College & Nehru Yuva Kendra, Villupuram have jointly organized “National Youth Day” on 12.01.2024 at 11.00 a.m. Dr. R. Muralidharan, Principal, to delivered presidential Address. Mr.M. Ramachandran, District Youth Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Villupuram to delivered chief guest address and encourages the students to imbibe the values of Swami Vivekananda and to follow his principles to build a nation full of physically and mentally strong and healthy youth. The day came to an end with the announcement of the prize winners for the best Pongal and Rangoli, Poetry, Essay, Drawing competitions. More than 400 students, Teaching staffs, and Non-Teaching staffs were present in this programme. Finally, Mr. S. Jone Charles, NSS Programme Officer delivered a vote of thanks and coordinated this programme successfully.
Pongal Celebration 2024 12-01-2024
Department of Tamil, Tamil Mandram and Cultural Club jointly organized and celebrated the “Pongal Celebration – Tamizhar Thirunal” on 12.01.2024.The students arrived in traditional dhotis and sarees to mark the occasion. To honor the farmers and the show the pride of celebrating Pongal, and provide a platform to students to exhibit their talents, various competitions were conducted to students and faculty members. The competitions like Essay Writing, Poetry, Declamation, Rangoli and Pongal Making were conducted. On the day of celebration, traditional games like Uriadithal, Sugarcane breaking, Lemon Spoon, and Musical Chair were conducted to the students and faculty members. Cultural performance by the students was excellent. The prize winners of the various events were honoured with certificate and shield. More than 400 students and faculty members of both teaching & non-teaching staff members were participated and enjoyed. The club coordinators and faculty members had made all the arrangements.
Anti-Drug Awareness Programme 11-01-2024
The NSS unit & Anti-Drug Club of our college have conducted “Anti-Drug Awareness Programme” on 11.01.2024 at 10.00 AM. Dr. T. Vivekanadhan, NCD DPO, DDHS, Villupuram, and Dr. A. Madhanraj, District Training Team Medical Officer, DDHS, Villupuram, were invited as the chief guest for creating awareness on the ill-effects of drug and alcohol consumption, in a comprehensive manner. The programme aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse, educate participants on the importance of a drug-free lifestyle, and promote a sense of responsibility towards building a healthy and drug-free society. More than 400 students, Teaching staffs, and Non-Teaching staffs have benefited in this programme. Finally, Mr. S. Jone Charles, NSS Programme Officer & Anti-Drug Club coordinator delivered a vote of thanks and coordinated this awareness programme successfully.
Chemistry and the Environment 11-01-2024
Department of Chemistry conducted a seminar on “Chemistry and the Environment” in the auditorium on 11th January 2024. The chief guest Dr. S. Savithri, Professor & Head of Department of Chemistry, School of Arts and Science, Sri Manakulakula Vinayagar College Engineering, Pondicherry had given a special lecture on ‘Chemistry and the Environment’. Students of B.Sc. Chemistry, B. Sc. Botany and B.Sc. Biotechnology were attended the session. 50 students participated and benefitted. Mrs. Enbarasi, AP / Chemistry and Mrs. K. Kalaiselvi, AP & HoD – Chemistry were made the arrangements for the event
MoU Signing with Manavalakalai Manra 11-01-2024
E. S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) had signed MoU with Manavalakalai Mandram (Arivu Thirukovil) (Centre for Yoga and Spiritual Education), Villupuram on 11th January 2024. With this MoU, the students of E. S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) will be able to get an exposure on Yoga and Meditation and orient the students. Through this MoU, the students will be given Certification, Diploma in Yoga. In continuation of the MoU, 30 hrs certification course in Yoga for healthy mind is planned for the students during EVEN Semester. Prof. V.Vivekanandan, Manging Trustee, Villupuram Manavalakalai Manra Trust (Centre for Yoga and Spiritual Education), Villupuram had signed the MoU and graced the event.
Veranda Club Inauguration & Competitive Examination Orientation Programme 03-01-2024
On 3rd January 2024, ES Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) Villupuram conducted the Veranda Club inauguration and orientation programme in association with Vearning learning solution Chennai. Dr.P.Udayakumar, Assistant Professor – Commerce & Veranda club coordinator delivered the welcome address. Dr.R.Muralidharan, Principal, ESASC, delivered the presidential address. Mr.Marimuthu Branch coordinator, Villupuram, Mr.Ganesh Kumar Banking Team leader, Mr. Vengat TNPSC Team leader, who were chief guest and resource person for the orientation programme and delivered the special lecture about TNPSC Group, Banking Examinations and various competitive Examination to students of all departments. As per the MoU signed, the Veranda Club is established in the campus with 120 books provided by Veranda Learning Solutions, to promote and train the students to appear and pass in the Competitive Examinations. 200 students of Commerce and Computer Science were participated the event.
