Womens Cell and ICC had jointly celebrated the World Girl Childs Day on 24-01-2024 by inviting Mr. S. Sasikumar, Menstural Pride & Hygiene Educator, SK Herbal Napkins, Happy Periods & Healthy Uterus Trus, Dharmapuri. He interacted with girl students and given an overview about the issues faced by the girls and how to overcome it. He created awareness among students about the usage and disposal of Sanitary napkin. Also, discussed about all menstrual related issues with historic way of caring Feminine and Motherhood Hygiene. He presented his content to break the taboos and end the stigma surrounding menstruation.

Dr. Thirumavalavan, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, Villupuram presided over the function. Students pledged to uphold democratic traditions of our country and the dignity of free, fair and peaceful elections without being influenced by considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language or any other inducement. The pledge was undertaken to motivate young voters to exercise their privilege to cast their vote in free and fair in a democratic country. Dr.C.Palani, I.A.S., District Collector, Villupuram, Mr.Vengatesan, RTO, Villupuram, Mr. Manikam, RTO Inspector, Villupuram, Mr. Govindan, RTO Inspector, Villupuram, Mr. Ramachandran, District Youth Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Villupuram and Mr. Vasanth, Traffic Police Inspector, Villupuram presided over the function and launched the rally by hosting the flag. At the rally, the students were participated by chanting the slogans. Students carried Placards and banners appealing to the people to follow traffic rules, avoid accidents, wearing helmets, avoid jumping signals and overspeeding. Reasoning Trainer, Veranda Villupuram-branch who had explained the following topics (Direction, Syllogism, Coding, Decoding language, Alphanumeric, Number ranking, Blood Relations) for TNPSC and Banking Examinations to second and third year students. Dr.R.Muralidharan, Principal, ESASC, and Dr. N. Velmurugan Vice principal, Heads all departments’ staff members participated in the programme.

Muralidharan, Principal, to delivered presidential Address. Mr.M. Ramachandran, District Youth Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Villupuram to delivered chief guest address and encourages the students to imbibe the values of Swami Vivekananda and to follow his principles to build a nation full of physically and mentally strong and healthy youth. The day came to an end with the announcement of the prize winners for the best Pongal and Rangoli, Poetry, Essay, Drawing competitions. More than 400 students, Teaching staffs, and Non-Teaching staffs were present in this programme. Finally, Mr. S. Jone Charles, NSS Programme Officer delivered a vote of thanks and coordinated this programme successfully.
Department of Tamil, Tamil Mandram and Cultural Club jointly organized and celebrated the “Pongal Celebration – Tamizhar Thirunal” on 12.01.2024.The students arrived in traditional dhotis and sarees to mark the occasion. To honor the farmers and the show the pride of celebrating Pongal, and provide a platform to students to exhibit their talents, various competitions were conducted to students and faculty members. The competitions like Essay Writing, Poetry, Declamation, Rangoli and Pongal Making were conducted. On the day of celebration, traditional games like Uriadithal, Sugarcane breaking, Lemon Spoon, and Musical Chair were conducted to the students and faculty members. Cultural performance by the students was excellent. The prize winners of the various events were honoured with certificate and shield. More than 400 students and faculty members of both teaching & non-teaching staff members were participated and enjoyed. The club coordinators and faculty members had made all the arrangements.
The NSS unit & Anti-Drug Club of our college have conducted “Anti-Drug Awareness Programme” on 11.01.2024 at 10.00 AM. Dr. T. Vivekanadhan, NCD DPO, DDHS, Villupuram, and Dr. A. Madhanraj, District Training Team Medical Officer, DDHS, Villupuram, were invited as the chief guest for creating awareness on the ill-effects of drug and alcohol consumption, in a comprehensive manner. The programme aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse, educate participants on the importance of a drug-free lifestyle, and promote a sense of responsibility towards building a healthy and drug-free society. More than 400 students, Teaching staffs, and Non-Teaching staffs have benefited in this programme. Finally, Mr. S. Jone Charles, NSS Programme Officer & Anti-Drug Club coordinator delivered a vote of thanks and coordinated this awareness programme successfully.
Department of Chemistry conducted a seminar on “Chemistry and the Environment" in the auditorium on 11th January 2024. The chief guest Dr. S. Savithri, Professor & Head of Department of Chemistry, School of Arts and Science, Sri Manakulakula Vinayagar College Engineering, Pondicherry had given a special lecture on ‘Chemistry and the Environment’. Students of B.Sc. Chemistry, B. Sc. Botany and B.Sc. Biotechnology were attended the session. 50 students participated and benefitted. Mrs. Enbarasi, AP / Chemistry and Mrs. K. E. S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) had signed MoU with Manavalakalai Mandram (Arivu Thirukovil) (Centre for Yoga and Spiritual Education), Villupuram on 11th January 2024. With this MoU, the students of E. S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) will be able to get an exposure on Yoga and Meditation and orient the students. Through this MoU, the students will be given Certification, Diploma in Yoga. In continuation of the MoU, 30 hrs certification course in Yoga for healthy mind is planned for the students during EVEN Semester. Prof. V.Vivekanandan, Manging Trustee, Villupuram Manavalakalai Manra Trust (Centre for Yoga and Spiritual Education), Villupuram had signed the MoU and graced the event.
On 3rd January 2024, ES Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) Villupuram conducted the Veranda Club inauguration and orientation programme in association with Vearning learning solution Chennai. Dr.P.Udayakumar, Assistant Professor – Commerce & Veranda club coordinator delivered the welcome address. Dr.R.Muralidharan, Principal, ESASC, delivered the presidential address. Mr.Marimuthu Branch coordinator, Villupuram, Mr.Ganesh Kumar Banking Team leader, Mr. Vengat TNPSC Team leader, who were chief guest and resource person for the orientation programme and delivered the special lecture about TNPSC Group, Banking Examinations and various competitive Examination to students of all departments. As per the MoU signed, the Veranda Club is established in the campus with 120 books provided by Veranda Learning Solutions, to promote and train the students to appear and pass in the Competitive Examinations. 200 students of Commerce and Computer Science were participated the event.
The Red Ribbon club and Department of Botany, Biotechnology jointly organized AIDS Awareness Programme on 28.12.2023 at 10.00 am on account of World AIDS Day. Miss R.Jamuna II year Botany delivered welcome address. Felicitation Address given by Dr. R.Muralidharan, Principal. Chief Guest Dr. T.Vivekanandhan NCD DPO, office of DDHS, Villupuram acted as a Chief Guest delivered a lecture to the students and made them aware on HIV/AIDS issues. 75 Students took part in the session and cleared their doubts. The Department of Physics & Science club Organizes “One Minute Speech” on 28.12.2023. The aim of this One Minute Speech is to provide a platform to the students to express “the idea in simplest and shortest way to get their point across is best for effective communication”. In this event 33 students were actively participated. The winners are S. Abilash (IIIrd year Chemistry) had won the 1st prize, S. Kumarakrishnan (IInd year Biotechnology) won the 2nd prize and R. Jamuna (IInd year Botany) won 3rd prize respectively. Staff members and students of various department were present in the event.
Department of English and English Literary Association jointly celebrated the Christmas Celebration on 23.12.2023. Mrs. P. Rajalakshmi, Head and Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce delivered a welcome address. Dr. R. Muralidharan, Principal, delivered Presidential address and gave a speech on the purpose of celebrating Christmas, the way to develop goodwill regardless of religion, and the need for everyone to follow the teachings of Jesus. A shack was set up in the college campus and student dressed as Santa Claus and distributed gifts to the students. Various cultural programs and variety entertainment activities were held by the students. Miss P. Lavanya, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, delivered a vote of thanks. The event was coordinated by Mr. C. Arjunan, Head – Department of English.
E. S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) had signed MoU with Veranda Learning Solutions, Chennai on 22-12-2023. With this MoU, the students of E. S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) will be able to get opportunity to interact with experts of Veranda Learning Solutions. Through this MoU, Veranda Club will be established in the College and they provide guidance and support to the students in competitive examinations, placement training, skill training etc., Dr. R. Muralidharan, Principal, E. S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), signed the MoU. Dr. A. Muthuraja, Dean – Academic & Development, ESSK Group and Dr. N. Velmurugan, Vice Principal, E. S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) were also witnessed in the MoU.
Training and Placement cell had organized Online Campus Drive on 20/12/2023. Intellipaat, Bengaluru conducted online interview. 35 Students from various departments actively participated in the interview. Ms. Deepika, HR, Intellipat had given detailed briefing about the company and the Job Description. Group Discussion was conducted to assess the performance of the students.
Department of Commerce in association with NISM & SEBI organized a two days Financial Literacy Programme of NISM on 18th & 19th December 2023. The goal of financial literacy is to help in understanding financial concepts that will help them to manage their money better. It is a life skill that one must grasp for good financial well-being. Through this programme, students had familiarized with Stock Markets and Mutual Funds. As an outcome of the programme students are able to understand the concept and need of Insurance and various types of Insurance. The session was handled by the Resource Person – Mr. Manoharan Manicakam, Trainer NISM, and Pondicherry. 100 Students of Commerce were participated in the two day seminar and get benefited. At the end of the programme, assessment was conducted and e-certificate will be issued.
E. S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), Villupuram had conducted the faculty awareness session regarding the Viksit Bharat. The orientation was conducted on 16-12-2023 (Saturday) at 3.30 PM. Totally 40 faculty members attended the orientation session. They have been explained about the Viksit Bharat and the Mygov portal and shared the video to view to share their ideas in the portal with 25-12-2023.
The NSS unit of E.S. Arts and Science College and Theivanai Ammal College for women, Villupuram jointly organized “Cleaning Campaign” at Kolathur Village on 16.12.2023 at 10 am. Mr Pugazhenthi, Village president presided over the programme. The NSS volunteers gathered to clean the kolathur pond. NSS volunteers enthusiastically collected plastic wastes, tea cups, weeds, and dry leaves spread over the surrounding areas. The whole cleaning drive was quite inspiring and motivating for the NSS team members. From ESASC 25 NSS Volunteers participated in the cleaning campaign.
Department of Commerce in association with Placement and Career Guidance Cell of E. S. Arts and Science (Co-Ed) organized a Career Awareness session to the final year students on 15-12-2023. The session was handled by Mr. Mohideen, HR Manager, Edu Bridge (Capgemini), Tambaram, Chennai. The resource person motivated the students and explained the career options. Also he suggested the students to enhance their skills and exhibit it while studying.
Training and Placement cell of our college organized Online Campus Drive on 13th December 2023. Planetspark conducted online interview to the students of ESASC. For the domestic slot, the CTC 6.75 Lakhs per year and the International slot the CTC is 7.45 Lakhs per year. In this interview 35 Students from various departments actively attended the pre-placement talk and Group discussion.
ESSK Group of Institutions conducted Pool Campus Placement drive at E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) on 11.12.2023 in the College Premises. Shri. S. Senthilkumar, Chairman, E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), presided over the event and delivered the Presidential address. Ashok Leyland, Delphi TVS, TVS Sundaram Brake Linings Ltd, Tata Electronics, Yanfeng and Oerlikon Metco Company HRs are conducted interview to the participants. 500 students from various colleges in around Villupuram district are actively participated and benefitted by this drive.

Dr.C.Palani, I.A.S., District Collector and G. Shashank Sai I.P.S Villupuram presided over the function and launched the rally by hosting the flag. Around 200 students of E. S. Arts and Science (Co-Ed), Villupuram participated in the rally and taken oath to protect child.

Manikandan a renowned debate speaker acted as the judge for this event. Six Eminent Speakers were invited from different places to participate in the event on the topic “இன்றய சுழலில் மனிதனின் ரசனை வளர்கிறதா, தளர்கிறதா”.

Science Departments (Botany, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics) had conducted National level seminar on the topic “Recent Trends in Advanced Nano materials and its Applications” on 27.10.2023. In this seminar Dr. Mary Josephine, Associate Professor and Head (Rtd), Department of Botany, Nirmala College for Women, Coimbatore. She delivered the keynote address in the topic “Recent Trends in Advanced Nano Materials and its Applications”. She explained the development and use of nanoparticles in the fields of medicine, agriculture, space, and cosmetology. Students from various colleges were participated around 150 participants attended and got benefited.
The Department of Commerce, had conducted one day Seminar on “Computation of Direct Taxation System in India” on 25.10.2023. Dr.M.Vetrivel, Associate Professor, and Assistance Director (CCDOE) Department of Commerce, Vels University (VISTAS) Chennai. The Chief Guest delivered the key points about the income taxation system. Tax levied by a government to take up schemes and projects for economic development and solve the basic problems of the poor and under privileged. He explained well about history of income tax in India. 125 students of Commerce department had attended the seminar and get benefitted.
The NSS and Red Ribbon club organized Tuberculosis Awareness Programme on 25.10.2023 at Board Room. Mr.S.Krishnamoorthy, Health Educator, Deputy Director of Tuberculosis, DDHS, Villupuram acted as Chief Guest and delivered talks on TB, early symptoms and sign, prevention measures etc., During the session, interactive video was played to spread awareness on various aspects of the disease finally the session was concluded with queries and doubt clarification. RRC Coordinator Mr. Rajasekaran, AP/Biotechnology made arrangements for the program and 70 students attended the session.
E. S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed) had celebrated the Ayudha Pooja and Saraswathi Pooja in the College Campus on 20-10-2023. The Pooja started at 1.15 PM and completed at 2.45 PM. The departments, Classrooms, faculty rooms and buses were cleaned and everything made ready. The departments had celebrated their Pooja in their respective laboratories. For the college, the Pooja was performed in Library, where the Navarathiri Kollu was arranged by the Women’s Club.
Department of Commerce had conducted one day seminar on Emerging trends in E-Commerce on 18-10-2023 in the Auditorium. Dr.M.Lalitha, Assistant Professor and Head of Commerce, Government Arts and Science College, Thiruvennainallur, Villupuram, 607203 had acted as the Chief Guest and handled the session. She had explained about the E-Commerce methods and its working procedure. 150 students had attended the session and get benefitted.
The Department of Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence and Tech Titan’s Association had organized a one day intercollegiate technical symposium Colloq’23 on 18th October 2023. Nearly 150 students from various colleges participated in the program and won prizes. The events like Meme Making, Web Development, Technical Quiz, Paper Presentation, Debugging, Group Dance and Solo Dance. Mr. D. Kumaresan, Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Trainer & Entrepreneur, was the Chief Guest. He motivated the students and advised them to be updated to get better opportunity. Principal Dr. R. Muralitharan delivered the keynote address. Professor Mr.R.Sivakumar coordinated the event. Head of Department Professor Mrs.K.Sivasankari delivered the vote of thanks and Professors Mr.B.Sivabharathi and Ms.D.Kumudavalli conducted the function. Mailam Engineering College Students had won the overall championship. Students of CS & AI had made all the arrangements.

Students from various departments actively participated in the interview. 1st Round of Interview was conducted on 18th October 2023, the selected students will proceed for 2nd round of Interview.
Department of Botany and Biotechnology, conducted a seminar on "Anti-snake Venom development & Antimalarial drug development from Cinchona officinalis” on 17th October 2023 at Auditorium. The chief guest Dr. Jayabalan Jayaprakash Assistant Professor & Head Department of Microbiology, St. Joseph’s College of Arts and Science, Cuddalore handled the session and addressed about Anti-snake Venom development for snake bite and Cinchona officinalis and its future treatment against Antimalarial drug treatment and death against malaria. Students of Botany and Biotechnology were attended the session and got benefited.
Department of Chemistry conducted a seminar on the topic “Effect of optical spectroscopy methods” was conducted on 16th October 2023 in the Board Room. The chief guest Dr. A. Jenif Dsouza, Head of Department, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, Chirst College of Arts and Science, Pondicherry addressed to the students and outlined the career opportunities. Students from department of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics attended and get benefited.
The Department of Computer Science had organized an inter department paper presentation competition “PAPER BEST’O 23” on 13-10-2023. More than 30 students from various departments had participated in this event and presented their papers through PowerPoint presentation. The students had presented their papers in Digital Marketing, E-commerce, Crypto-currency, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Block Chain, Cyber Security etc., From this event, the students had proved their presentation skills and improved their knowledge. D.Gokulapriyan & V. Tamilmanimaran I B.Sc Artificial Intellegence had won the first prize and P.Sandhiya II B.Sc Computer Science got the second prize.
The Department of English conducted a one day seminar on 21st Century Skills on 13.10.2023 at 10.30 am. Dr. K. Kannan Prasad, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Loyola College (Autonomous), Chennai acted as the Resource person and delivered a special lecture on “21st Century Skills”. The resource person covered the following and highlighted the importance of Critical thinking; Creativity; Collaboration; Communication; Information literacy; Media literacy; Technology literacy; Flexibility; Leadership.
Department of Placement and Career Guidance Cell conducted five days Placement Training to the final Year students from 09/10/2023 to 13/10/2023. Trainers from SYASANS Career Analytics Technology Solutions, Chennai had conducted the placement training to the students on Aptitude, Communication Skills, and Group Discussion, Resume building, Interview Skills, Goal Settings and SWOT analysis.
Department of Placement & Career guidance cell had conducted the awareness session on Competitive Examinations on 10/10/2023. Shri. S. Senthilkumar, Chairman, E.S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), delivered the presidential address. Mr. A. Reyaz, Academic Head, Mr. Prasanna Ganesh, Coordinator and Mr. Stephen Arockiyasamy, Coordinator and Mentor of JD Academy of Excellence, Chennai, acted as the resource persons and delivered the special address on various examinations like UPSC, SSC and TNPSC. They also addressed the students on the awareness and methods to get through the competitive Examinations.
Department of English conducted a one day seminar on 05.10.2023 at 10.30 am. Dr. K. Muruganandan, Assistant Professor of English, Government Arts and Science College, Kallakurichi, acted as the Resource person and delivered a special lecture on “Marginality and Life Writings”. 38 students of B.A. English & CS attended the seminar and benefited.
Department of Visual Communication conducted two days’ Workshop on UI / UX Design on 03-10-2023 to 04-10-2023 in the college premise. Mr. M. Udayalingam, Founder & CEO, Buff Creative College, Chennai acted as the Resource person and conducted hands on training to the students. In this workshop 55 students of Visual Communication and Computer Science attended and know about the UI / UX design. Ms. Aiswarya Lakshmi was appreciated as best UI / UX designer by the Resource person.

Tmt.K. Rajammal, District Social Welfare Officer, Villupuram presided over the function and launched the rally. Around 346 students of participated in the rally, they had be given awareness on Right to Information Act.
The NSS unit of our college and Department of Physical Education have conducted “9 th International Yoga Day” on 21.06.2023 at 10.00 am. Shri. V. Anandhamurthy, Yoga Teacher, Isha Yoga Center, Villupuram, had delivered a special address regarding the importance of Yoga. The function began with a brief introduction of Yoga Day. Yoga Day is celebrated among the students and staffs to make them understand the importance of Yoga in their life. It helps the students understand how to maintain harmony between body and mind. After a few warm up, simple Asanas were explained and performed enthusiastically.
